I'VE BEEN THINKING
Woke up very groggy from the night before (the Gold Panda gig). Ate pizza & cookie at Sunnyside and then livened up after hearing the Spurs winner go in to beat Arsenal. We spent most of the day cutting up Ichi’s steel drums. Ichi is a brilliant Japanese musician who recorded some steel drums for us a few months ago. It’s only now we’re getting round to sorting them out for the track they’re gonna go on. The song ‘Are You Girl?’ (as its called at the moment, although i want to change it) is really sounding weird…good weird!! It sounds Egyptian & Japanese at the same time, sounds like a new language. and includes the lyrics ‘not a fuddy duddy’ and ‘s*** on a shark’. Ate 2 dinners. Massively regretted it later. Watched X-Factor, the DRAMA! Loved Wagner’s reply to Cheryl. I want a spin-off sitcom with Wagner and Louis. Fell asleep during Match Of The Day just like the good old days.

MOLESKIN MOUNTAIN BOOTS
Last Wednesday we aired 'Moleskin Mountain Boots' on JH's new audio/visual show Hooops . 'MMB' is kind of like a mixtape, a collection of demos and sounds we have been working on (for quite some time now). It was mixed together by JH. These demos and sounds are currently being recorded by us. These mixes and the video of the Hooops show won't be uploaded or played again. If you missed it, sorry. Maybe one day in the distant future they'll turn up?
While it was being broadcast JH was being streamed live - painting the artwork for the 'mixtape' (above), typing the tracklist (below), projecting different backdrops, cutting between different images, pretending to be a duck, and generally bumming around. There was a slight problem early on when his computer crashed (probably due to his face being on the screen) but we overcame that hiccup and the rest of the show went well. There are a load of photos, screengrabs and live chat from the show below. Keep your eye out for future Hooop shows!

OLO RADIO - THE END
Yes sadly after 5 great years of broadcasting (live and in podcast form) we have decided to call it a day here at OLO Radio. We'll write more next week about why we decided to stop. We'll also be posting up some stats, facts and figures for the eggheads amongst you. You can still listen to and download ALL the podcasts right here right now. The blog won't be deleted. We've collected up ALL 134 of the podcasts so they are safe. Hopefully we'll work out a good way to get them all to you.

Hello again,
This is just a bit of a round-up and a final goodbye from the OLO Radio team.
Maybe we should tell you why we decided to stop podcasting mixes. During the end of last year and the beginning of this year we really fell behind with making new mixes and updating the itunes podcast feed. The number of mixes we put out was really poor compared to the number in past years. I think most of the team lost interest in doing the mixes and had less time to make them due to a number of things. So we decided to stop. There's no point just doing just a few a year. Stop it! kill it! do something new! (more on that in a bit).
We've left you with 134 OLO Radio mixes to listen to / download whenever you ever want to. As we said in the message above, when we manage to upload them all (it's gonna take a while!) we'll post links up here on this blog for you to download the whole lot.
We've really enjoyed running OLO Radio! In all the different forms its taken - the weekly live online radio streams, the pre-mixed podcasts, the live DJing (in the real world), and even within our OLO Worms live sets. It's been a lot of fun! We've really enjoyed having the special guest mixes made for OLO Radio too. So thanks to all the guests who made mixes for us and a BIG thank you to anyone who tuned into our radio signal. Cheers! x

JH: "It hasn't really sunk in yet but just over a week ago we supported Steve Mason in Bristol. You can have a look at the photos above. Steve Mason was a bit of a hero of mine growing up so it was a big deal when we got asked to do it. I won't go on anymore about him as it's embarrassing, i'll keep it to myself. I was soo pleased it all went really well. It was probably our best gig we've ever played. It felt like everything clicked into place. We had the Pink Panther theme as intro music that we walked onto, it really put me at ease. We got a really great review in Venue magazine which you can read HERE.
