A 'fan' threw us into her log fire and sent us the photo. Kind. I guess this is what we'll look like tonight in Cardiff..i don't mean we'll be hot/on fire! i mean we'll be burned to death by the locals after our stand-up show bombs at the comedy club.

We are very excited to say we have now been confirmed to play at this year's VENN FESTIVAL! It's gonna be amazing! Here's the poster..
Here's the press release (highlighted people we are fans of)..
VENN 08
5-8th June 2008, Bristol, England
First acts to confirm...
Matmos, Why?, Rachel Unthank & The Winterset, Moritz von Oswald, OLO Worms, Sunburned Hand Of The Man, Murcof, Errorsmith, Fuck Buttons, Infinite Livez vs Stade, Skeletons and The Kings of All Cities, The Blessing, Snorkel, Afrikan Boy, Chik Budo, The Fungus Moth, John Wall, Wildbirds & Peacedrums, Le Volume Courbe, Peverelist, Munch Munch, MoHa, Hauschka, One More Grain, Tractor, October + Phil Minton's 'Century FC'...much much much more to be announced soon.
Bristol's festival of musical overlap returns for a fifth year of celebratory stylistic mix 'n' match. Following last year's triumphant edition featuring key sets from Faust, A Hawk & A Hacksaw, Luke Vibert and ZunZunEgui among others, Venn 08 retains much the same format, but expands to incorporate a joyful safari through a host of unlikely new venues and contexts. Events will unfold in planetariums, ice rinks (MY IDEA!!), skate parks and other mischievously appropriated spots around the city, as Venn maintains its resolve to find fun new ways to flip the urban festival format.
Highlights among the opening raft of line-up confirmations include the masters of colourful conceptual electronics and Bjork collaborators Matmos, psychedelic rock/poetical hip hop mongrels Why?, minimalist club-dub maestro Moritz Von Oswald (Basic Channel), the old-meets-new English folk wonderment of Rachel Unthank & The Winterset and 'Century FC': an ambitious, specially commissioned one-off project involving maverick vocal improviser Phil Minton and a 100-strong civilian choir. Plus plenty more knowns and unknowns to enjoy, and many, many yet to be announced.

You can order one of the last 5 special edition's HERE (click on 'buy regular album'..it won't be the regular version though). Just to let you know, we won't be making anymore of these painted/numbered cds once the last 5 have gone. There have only been 25 of these made. We may put them both up for download at a later date.
Here are the first 8 painted 'Bare Foot' albums that we sent out..

Here are the action figures and the worm balloon..
We had one happy German customer who took a photo of her action figures lost..
If you need any more persuading to buy, here's some reviews when it came out..
"The album drifts along with all the unquestioned sense of a surreal dream..it's a huge, slow-dawning success"- VENUE MAGAZINE
"Bare Foot always jumps back to surprize you with a sunrise, illuminating it's on way, travelling everywhere you want to go but always forgot to ask"
- DRUNKEN WEREWOLF MAGAZINE
"This album is excellent!" - SJ ESAU
Thank god that's all over with.

We're all MASSIVE fans of You've Been Framed. It's the ONLY thing that will actually make Boonbeans smile. You can't beat a animal pushing a man over the edge. Some of you might recognise this video from the visuals at our last gig.

Recorded live on Ian Gomm's 'Summer Holiday' TV show. By the way this isn't the fresh new beginning we mentioned in the last post, i think this was recorded on the day we fell ill and had to be re-built.

You have to breakdown before you can re-build. This was us having a bit of a mental breakdown a couple of weeks back..
Fresh new beginnings have begun! Proof will follow later this week.

We finally got around to putting together this little video made up from clips filmed on New Years Eve. The plan was to play a set on the roof of our studio (Sherwood Hood) but we ended up forgetting about it until about 3am where we risked our lives by hanging over the edge (not musically..it was very gentle) of the roof and played til we got arrested by the cops for crimes against music and film making and stuck in jail (that's the reason for the late video..and the new concept album we'll be revealing soon).
Worst video ever!??..

1) A review of our 1st proper gig (last November)
"Decked out in aprons and thick-rimmed glasses and making liberal use of art-school projections, Olo Worms appear to be just as much a visual as a musical concept".

2) A Dutch website's little write up on OLO Radio
> CLICK HERE TO ATTEMPT TO READ or read the rough translation below that an OLO mum did (thanks mum!)..
"In our unremitting journey to all things Deerhoof, we came by chance to a podcast of John Dieterich, the guitarist of the nuts lunatic company from San Francisco. Dieterich takes you on a fantastic trip, but OLO Radio contains yet more gold gems.
Dieterich begins its mix with Fiery Furnaces and closes finished with Danielson, familiar names from the indie-scene, but among those he entices us always more deeply within in its musical universe, along modest pianostukjes of Béla Bartók and Erik Satie, jazzy ballads of Nedelle and The Curtains, raw acoustic punk of Cheval the Fresh and luizige drum 'n basses of Good For Cows.
Dieterich is one of the 'special guests' on OLO Radio, a radio blog of OLO Worms, a bunch weirdo's as their homepage and MySpace-profile show, but good weirdo's with good taste. You may name yourself a connoisseur, but you may know only half of the artists on the playlists by name, but OLO Radio the trouble overlords are not concerned about that. There is music there to be discovered."
3) OLD Worms on ebay (great band!)

Below is the front cover Boonbeans designed for this month's Drunken Werewolf magazine (Bristol special) with You & The Atom Bomb in space/underwater..it's not quite clear? Click on the image to enlarge for a closer look. It features a load of good Bristol bands and friends of ours like Safetyword, You & The Atom Bomb, Rachel Dadd and Countryside. Word is we may be in the next one or the one after. I should have blogged this last week cos it's sold out now. Maybe it'll get re-printed someday?

Dear Radio Fans,
Oh my!! We are soo sorry we were off air for soo long. This will not happen again! To be honest there is no real reason for the absence other than..we got fat and lazy. So unfortunately this meant there was no Christmas or Best of the Year podcast.
However, while we were away Boonbeans did compile a few 'best of 2007' lists (for his own enjoyment), these can be viewed here.. SONGS / ALBUMS / VIDEOS / GIGS
We are all very excited about stepping back into the old OLO Radio studio again and creating lots of new mixes for you. We also have a whole load of special guest mixes for you coming up very soon.
Stayed tuned to OLO!
Regards,
OLO Radio Team
