This is pretty crazy. I don't really know what to say? errmmm..probably the most insane thing thats ever happened in my life! Our music and my rambling chat was broadcast into THE HOUSES OF PARLIAMENT!!!???!!?? The MPs were having some kinda debate about the BBC/6music and were all listening to us in there from 7-8pm. we didnt know bout this til after. shame they didnt hear 'Barber Shop'. GJ & I got interviewed on the phone and quoted (below).

In the evening post..

On their website..

OLO WORMS - BBC 6MUSIC LIVE SESSION

Yep!! We were on live radio! We performed live for Marc Riley on 6Music. We played 4 songs (1 of which was saved for Gideon Coe's show later). We had a little chat too. It was weird, but we loved it. Marc is a top guy. Bit strange meeting him having grown up listening to him.

We played..

This was probably my favourite Homegame ever! Major fun was had. Everything about it was perfect. Sooo many musical highlights, i pretty much loved everything i saw. I won't pick anyone out, i can't! It's too hard. I'm not being wet it's just it seems wrong to choose one act other the whole lot that played. We played alright i think. I really enjoyed the set, i loved the way my hair and coat swung around..and now i stand up!!

I don't even wanna start writing anymore about what happened at the festival it cos i think it's better you check out the photos. The photos are jumbled up a bit. To be completely honest i couldn't be bothered to spend hours and hours sorting them this year. All the days mash into one anyway. We have decided not to do a Homegame video this year as we've done them for the last 3 years and feel that it'll be boring to do another similar one. Plus the clips we have aren't as good as past years, i think we were enjoying ourselves too much to worry about getting the camera out. There's gonna be a Homegame film (i'm not sure how big a production it'll be) so we'll be submitting the stuff we did film to that, i'm sure they'll put it to better use. There are soooo many great photos floating about online, alot are just on facebook which i guess you can't see. I'll link you up with some good sets below.

The only review that exists is this one..

"Next up are Bristol’s OLO Worms (7pm). "Did you understand OLO Worms?" Fence’s Johnny Lynch asks the crowd after their set. "Did you understand OLO Worms?" I’m not sure that I did – but at least their brand of noise experimentation was constructed on top of some genuinely funky rhythm section work and their art video projection was always interesting. A bit Sly And Robbie meets the Exploding Plastic Inevitable. And it’s the first time I’ve ever seen brown parcel tape used as a percussion device." - The Herald

IMPORTANT BAND MEETING

SILVER COLUMNS

Recently JH & MH have been making artwork and live visuals for the SILVER COLUMNS! Silver Columns have recently been revealed as Adem and our good friend The Pictish Trail.

They played their first ever gig with our visuals as a backdrop at the Fence Homegame Festival two weeks ago. Above is a still image used at the end of their set. They have some exciting London gigs coming up, check their myspace HERE.

Their debut album ‘Yes, and Dance’ is released on Moshi Moshi on 24th May. JH has designed the album artwork. The first track ‘Cavalier’ is available to buy from 19th April.

KING CREOSOTE GIG POSTER

Above is the poster for our upcoming gig with King Creosote. The Welcome Committee have also just been added to the line-up. This will probably be our last gig for a while.

6MUSIC LIVE SESSION POSTER

HOMEGAME 2010 POSTER

Above is the OLO poster we made for The Fence Homegame we played at a couple of weeks ago.

OLO RADIO - G53 - DJ SARAH WILSON - THE INSATIABLE DESIRE (OR: IF IT WEREN'T FOR INFERTILITY SHE'D DEFINITELY BE A MUM BY NOW) - 22/2/10

Our next guest mix comes from DJ SARAH WILSON!

Myspace / Facebook

'The Insatiable Desire (or: If It Weren't For Infertility She'd Definitely Be A Mum By Now)' is the name of this EXCLUSIVE mix given to OLO Radio. Enjoy!

Both parts of the mix were painstakingly edited to make them exactly 45 minutes long therefore we have omitted the usual OLO Radio jingle at the start (because it would make them longer than 45 minutes, and spoil all of Sarah's hard work).

You can download DJ Sarah Wilson's special artwork and print it out to make a cassette tape cover for the mixes. CLICK HERE for the outer sleeve and CLICK HERE for the inner sleeve.

Get it HERE.

OLO RADIO - BB40 - SLOPPY VINYL - 18/2/10

January 2009. My Uncle's massive record collection. A few glasses of wine. An unplanned live wreckage. This boy can't cope in real time. This mix is sloppy, verr sloppy. Who doesn't love a record at the wrong speed?

WORM GUT T-SHIRT

Back in February JH opened his BREADED GOODS SHOP. On sale were T-shirts, paintings and prints. At this moment in time the only thing on sale is the 'We Believe In Danny Dyer' T-shirt (small & medium sizes), which can be ordered HERE. He's not really sure when he'll be filling the shop with more items? Below is the first OLO Worms T-shirt. We didn't post them up on here, we just sold them at gigs this year and last year. There are just 2 left now. If you want one you'll have to come to our next gig (the last one for a while) on April 9th..more on that soon.

WHAT'S GOING ON

Helloooo!!

JH here. Hi, how are you? Ahh that's nice / sorry to hear about that.

I'm writing from MH's Pineapple Cottage (which is just behind the Pineapple dance studio thats been on the TV recently). Anyway, i had planned to blog all the recent stuff that we've doing/plan to do/etc...but guess what? I ran out of time, i nearly missed my megabus. I burnt a cd full of our crap to bring here only for it not to work on the computer (a PC/mac problem i think). So this is all your getting til next week. I'll quickly round up what's what with a simple list. A blog without pictures is depressing isn't it? We'll make up for it next week. So here is the news..

> Fence Homegame 2010.
We play the Fence Collective Homegame this weekend in Fife, Scotland (our 4th Homegame!). We are on at 7pm on Friday 12th March in the Anstruther Town Hall.
We are also recording a few acoustic songs for the BBC in a caravan!
(JH & MH are also doing the visuals for Silver Columns on Saturday night).
You can see the full line-up and times HERE.

> 6Music Marc Riley Live Session.
We are doing a live session for Marc Riley at 7pm on Mon 22nd March.
We'll be recording 4 live songs (3 you'll hear live) and 'chatting'.
Listen in live on the day HERE.

> 'Back From England' Digital Bundle.
We'll be giving out our new 'digital bundle' some time soon. This will feature an mp3 of our single 'Back From England', 7 remixes of the song, artwork, and OLO extras.

> Myspace.
We've stuck up 'Back From England' & 'The Elastic Waste Band' on Myspace now for you to check out if you want. We've also added some other tracks from 'Bare Foot' and a few other bits.

> Recording.
It's going slowly, but we are recording tracks that will appear on our album. We might put some of these online in the coming weeks, maybe not? Who knows?

> King Creosote Support Slot.
We are playing with our boss King Creosote at the Louisiana, Bristol on April 9th.

> OLO Radio.
There have been two new podcasts made recently. Check them out HERE.

OK, well, the others are all tucked up in bed now with their ladies, i'm gonna settle down on the cold hard floor. We're off early in the morning to Scotland. An 8 hour drive. As i said i'll get on the case when i get back and get this blog back to normal.

See ya!
